NEED HELP! Shock and Awe Intro Video
« on: December 03, 2009, 10:29:07 PM »

Maybe this will inspire some of you to come up with ideas for a new intro video.  It needs to be kept short for all the unfortunate souls with poor Internet connection  ;D .

Shock and Awe baby!

Amazing offoad

This will probably take great thought, lots of talent, good equipment, and could get scrapped completely if it doesn't look possible at all.  Have to do it all within reason, sit down, and sell this idea to all parties involved.

It's all in the baby phase.  Nothing solid at all.  Crawl, walk, run... and right now we're crawling.

Not sure what you are looking for but count me in! I will jump anything in someone Else's vehicle J/K!

This is supposed to be for the intro video for Bundy Hill's Link correct? What are you looking for, video, still photos or nutballs acting crazy for you to film?  I don't have a good camera but I take good pics, at least I've been told that I do. Let me know how I may assist you. I am planning on going to Bundy on the 12th or 13th I am not sure which day yet but maybe we can talk there. I think I know who you are (if you have the toyota that looks like mission control on the inside with all the gadgets lol).

I'm going to have to look around the property and see what area could be neat to do this in.

Even if it was a couple of motorcycles jumping, ATVs going up the sides of hills (or doing their own jumps), me jumping my rig (I'd have to build the jump so that I don't beat it up too much, and it being filmed and photographed from a high view point that would be cool (i.e. Chicken Hill overlooking the scramble area).

Not trying to have this rough of a landing...  My 2.5" shocks can take some hits, but I don't want fender cracks.

I can think of two larger vehicles that I've seen in the area.  One is the S10 that did the mud challenge.

Digging out a channel and a jump is fairly safe.  Even safer is everyone taking different lines and not crossing into another vehicle's path.  From Chicken Hill you can get a pretty wide angle...

Do you have a date you are wanting to do this or are you going to compile the footage over time?

No date set.  Perhaps all the participants can earn a free wheelin' day.  Work and then play....  I'm open to ideas (remember that I'm probably more of a newbie to the off roading community than most).

That sounds like a good idea.  Will you be out at BUndy this Saturday?  We'll have to start filming then and talk about some ideas.  Are you looking to make a video to post here or a longer DVD?

There is a little device I would like to get/make to create really smooth, professional looking videos.

http://www.dudecraft.com/2009/07/diy-steadicam-rig.html

I need to go to the hardware store!  Anyways I will be out Saturday.  Hopefully early.  You guys will most likely have to flag me down, or I might not recognize your vehicles.  The battery on my camcorder is busted, but one is on the way right now.

The main pupose was to develop an intro for the Bundy Hill website, but if we get tons of good footage there might be more possibilities.

I remember when I was a little kid and liked to watch BMX dvds....

EDIT:  Got the steadicam rig built.  Pics to follow.
