Project Patriotic Jeep
Patriotic - inspired by love for your country.
This rig will be decorated with a patriotic military theme. Many Servicemembers enjoy this hobby including yours truly (served with 3/505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 2-7 Infantry Cottonbalers, and now belong to a Psychological Operations Company).
Over the next year we will be accepting donations (and also contributing our supporting member signups) for the purchase of a Jeep. Whatever money we’ve collected over this period is what we’re using. We’ll go around asking people to sell their Jeep for $50 bucks if that’s all we get!
The neatest thing would be to figure out the VIN number to my friend’s Jeep Rubicon and see if the current owner would be willing to sell it (SSG Andersson passed away in March of 07 while I was in the Al Anbar Province of Iraq).
The intent is to build a rig dedicated to the people who serve this country with parts you choose and let you take it for a spin when we have it out at off road parks. We will attempt to setup rides for those coming off of deployments and on leave from their tours (give them something to tell their buddies when they return). You will also be able to request this Jeep make appearances at certain locations. Just let us know (look up Addison, MI… that’s where it’ll be located). At these events people can donate money and/or goods to send overseas.
We will also be making vinyl stickers with names of those who passed away while on duty. These will go on the actual Jeep and M416 trailer which will be showcased with the rig. You can submit names and a brief narrative by using our contact form. Please be sure to include their name, rank, service organization, home town, and the theatre in which they last served at a minimum. No donation is required to submit these names.
We’ll be giving some random gifts out too so make sure to put your address on your Paypal transaction!
